The benefit the Hook 5 is that it has added length and can reach further between pin stacks without bumping the adjacent pins.
This makes it a terrific weapon against shorter pins behind longer pins or when dealing with heavy warding and paracentric keyways. Because of their reach, you can easily lift the pins without having to maneuver your pick through the warding!
What Are Slender Lock Picks?
Eventually, you will run into locks with tighter or more restrictive keyways and as such you will likely need thinner picks and more maneuverable lock picks.

What Is GSP?
The GSP stands for “Government Steel Picks” and is exclusively a Peterson Manufacturing product.
While most lock picks are made of 10-95 carbon steel, Peterson GSP picks are made of an elite stainless steel alloy similar to the 420 stainless steel that is used in many surgical tools—like scalpels—essentially making these the strongest lock picks on the market!
